Go Hard Or Go Home - GRIND TOUR Kick off in Joburg NOVEMBER 5th 2010.
With the influx of international superstars descending on our shores,
South African hip hop fanatics can brace themselves for a ground
breaking hip hop tour.
This follows the announcement of a musical mish-mash between Africa
and the US, which is heading our way in the form of the Go Hard or Go
Home - Grind Tour, organized by local independent hip hop label
Unreleased Records and Fayah Blaze Entertainment features world renowned
rapper Whosane from Brooklyn, New York.
The talented wordsmith, who has worked with prominent names in the
entertainment industry like rapper Mos Def and singer/producer Raaphael
Saadiq, and most recently South Africa’s own Goapele will be sharing the
stage with local heavyweights Young Nations, F-eezy, Poet The Sonnet,
Draztik and Pretoria natives Blak Lez and N-Veigh in the first of many
events set to take place around the country.
Whosane is not the only international act billed to perform; he’ll be
sharing the stage with fellow US rapper Silence DemAll, a San Francisco
native, who has graced stages in Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Miami and
all throughout California alongside established names.
Silence DemAll’s impeccable CV boasts of being featured on mixtapes
everywhere from Brooklyn (Airwear Mixtape hosted by Mad Linx); to
Detroit (Hustleville Presents), to Atlanta (Street King Guerillas) and
back to the Bay Area (This is Siccness.Net, Dj Ambidexstress, Mixxtape
Mobb, Teal Town Allstars, The Bay Abridged, etc.). Silence was just
featured on the STASH Magazine mixtape alongside the likes of E40,
Xzibit, and many more.
But his countryman, Whosane, on the other hand, has not only been
making major moves internationally, but has fallen in love with the
motherland, deciding to relocate to Cape Town which has resulted in a
string of collaborations with local acts. So far he has worked with HHP,
Tumi, Zubz, Young Nations and Draztik amongst others.
This is the same MC who has gone on a 30 city North American tour
last year with Mos Def, Jay Electronica and Erykah Badu. The much
anticipated show will take place at Le Mix Room, a premier venue in
Johannesburg, on the 5th of November at 8pm and entrance is R50.
DJ’s billed to perform on the night include DJ’s DJ Zan-D, DJ Pley and DJ Cuddles.
